HELP TO KEEP OUR KIDS COOL

For our 25th  Year Anniversary Celebration, we are really “Reaching for the Stars” by raising funds to put shades over our playgrounds.  This is a lofty goal, but one that we feel is reachable when we work together.  If you have a child that is looking for an Eagle Scout project, they could complete their project and help us achieve our goal of keeping our playground healthy and safe for the children at Sunset Elementary.  We are in the beginning planning stages, so contact me with any comments or questions, or if you are able to help in any way to make this a reality.

In addition to relying on our community and fundraisers, we are applying for grants. This will help us with the funds we need to not only put shades on the playgrounds,  but improve the park and school grounds just west of the school.  If you, your family, and friends vote for our school on Kohl’s Cares on Facebook, we could win a $500,000 grant!  You can just go to Facebook and vote for ‘”Sunset School” in St. George, Utah on the Kohl’s Cares page.  There is only one vote per account/email.
Look for more information on voting for our school on the Pepsi Refresh project coming up.

The Third Annual Healthy and Safety Fair coming up October 8th  will help provide the funds we need to work on these projects.  Be watching for information to come home about how to sponsor your child’s efforts to make healthy choices and walk.

When we each do a little – it adds up to a lot!
